Letícia Barbabela
Postdoctoral Researcher - Phillips-University, Marburg


Letícia has been a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Marburg since 2023, working on the Politicians, Policies, and the Reproduction of Wealth project funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. Her research focuses on the interplay between corruption, inequality, and distributive politics, examining how political elites respond to the demands of different socioeconomic groups and how informal rules shape government resource allocation. In addition to her work on the Politicians and Wealth Reproduction project, she is also a principal investigator on the DFG-funded project Unequal Democracy in Brazil and South Africa (2023-2026). Before joining Marburg, Letícia earned her PhD in Political Science from University College Dublin. She holds a master’s degree in public policy from Collegio Carlo Alberto, Italy, and a law degree from UFMG, Brazil.
