Political Networks
Who are the policymakers acting in fiscal policies? During the conception and approval of these policies, how do they act? What strategies and connections pro-wealth or pro-distribution can we identify in this process? How does regulation of conflict of interests work? Does it influence the trajectories or how politicians act?
The Brazilian research team investigates the policymakers involved in wealth reproduction policies. Combining process-tracing and network analysis, we aim to identify and reconstruct the profiles, as well as the social and discursive networks that may influence their positions. The team also analyzes legal strategies these actors employ to favor wealth concentration during policy-building. WP 2 also researches how regulation of conflict of interest may or may not influence the trajectory and actions of these politicians, in multiple countries.
